In an effort to empower individuals orphaned by violence, OSA provides the following educational and social programs in the Philadelphia area and nationwide.
Our organization is the only one in America that provides such programs to orphans of violence. Educational programs include: a scholarship program, financial relief program, orphan registry, orphan resource center, and advocacy and outreach. Social programs include: a mentoring program, and The Front Porch online community.
OSA’s registry will collect information on the statistics, trends, and circumstances of orphans of violence.
Orphan Resource Center (ORC)
The resource center will provide a one-stop clearinghouse of information for orphans of violence, caregivers, and others in this community.
OSA mentoring is a program where screened and approved mentors (some who have been helped by OSA) offer support, guidance, and friendship to orphans of violence grappling with being parentless.
(Click Here) The Front Porch Online Community
The Front Porch online community is a forum where orphans of violence, caregivers, advocates, and others in this community can make friends, support one another, share stories, and receive messages.
OSA advocacy provides updates on issues important to orphans of violence, including foster care, gun violence, and domestic and family violence, and supports advocacy efforts on the local, state, and national levels.
