We want you to know that you are not alone. In addition to being able to reach out to OSA and our staff, we encourage you to connect with individuals who have shared an experience similar to yours. Below is a list of online communities that focus on connecting individuals who have suffered a loss, including those individuals orphaned by violence.

Grief Net operates 24-hours/day, 365 days/year.  The site contains various support groups, including "unique losses" which include suicide, murder-suicide and violence.  There is a fee associated with joining. This fee is not a contribution to OSA.

Disaster Survivor Support is a peer support group for survivors of disasters, including floods, firestorms, hurricanes, earthquakes. Including those who have lost loved ones as a result of a natural disaster.

Sympathy Sharing offers an interactive open forum for bereaved individuals as well as a place to leave tributes or memorials.

Healing After Loss is a peer support for those who have lost a loved one to suicide.

Drowning Support Network is a peer support group for people who have lost loved ones in incidents involving drowning or other aquatic accidents, especially when no physical remains have been recovered, or the recovery process has been lengthy and difficult.

GROWW: Grief Recovery Online is a members helping members support group offering chat rooms, message boards, library and resources for those having suffered the loss of a loved one.

Winston's Wish supports children and young people going through bereavement and the site contains things like message boards, information and ideas on how to cope with grief.

Grief, Loss & Recovery is a collection of articles, poems and includes a members-only blog.

Journey Through Suicide Grief is an email support group for those who have lost a loved one to suicide.
